Workers including bank, railways, airport, trade union and labourers shout anti-Congress-led UPA government slogans during a protest near the parliament in New Delhi on Wednesday,16 December 2009.Thousands of workers from the Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), banking and leftist party trade unions demanded better pay and pensions. Both houses of Indian parliament adjourned during the pre-lunch sitting with the opposition closing ranks to protest price rises saying prices of essential commodities were witnessing an increase since the UPA came to power.
