National Security Guard (NSG) commando performs during the Silver Jubilee and Raising Day celebration at Manesar in Gurgaon on Friday, 16 October 2009. On this occasion, the Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has released the Anthem for NSG, which was written by renowned lyricist Gulzaar and Music was composed and sung by Bollywood Singer-Music Director Shankar Mahadevan. The NSG is a federal contingency force raised in 1985 and a quick reaction elite force for neutralizing terrorists, hijackers and kidnappers in situations which are beyond the capability of local forces to handle.
