GOC Northern Command General Ata Hasnain flags off the first army convoy after the Srinagar-Leh highway was opened to traffic in Zojila, 108 km east of Srinagar May 2, 2011. The 443 km (275 miles) long highway was opened by army authorities for traffic on Monday after remaining snowbound at Zojila Pass for the past six months.
