Executive Director of Rotary Wing Research and Design Centre- HAL N Seshadri hands over the first batch of four Cheetal helicopters to Assistant Chief of Air staff Air Vice Marshal M Bahadur at Barrackpore in West Bengal, Kolkata on Saturday, 25 July 2009. Cheetal is the first batch of re-engined version of ‘Cheetah’ helicopters. IAF had placed an order for 10 Cheetals, of which the first batch of four has been delivered; the remaining six are expected to be handed over by September. The Cheetal helicopters are robust with enhanced fuel-efficient engine, which boost its endurance and payload.
