Two Common Leopards will be sent to Imphal Zoological Park, Manipur in exchange of a 5 year old male Serow (Wild Goat) which is being brought from Imphal Zoological Park Manipur, under National Zoo Authority exchange programme.

A female Gangetic dolphin, one of the most endangered species in the world, found ill near Kulsi River, about forty five kilometres west of Guwahati and brought dead to the state zoological park last night. The Gangetic dolphin weighs eighty kilograms and seven and half feet long. Zoo officials sent the dead dolphin to the state veterinary college for its post-mortem.

Zoo veterinarian Bijoy Gogoi rescued a Leopard Cat from a well in Hahsora villageat Kamrup district in Assam on Thursday, 22 January 2009. The Cat fell in to a well at night when searching for food. The Leopard Cat was later shifted to the Assam State Zoo in Guwahati.
