Two Elephant namely Laxman and Pakhiraj which was rescued from Parkup Pahar, Karbi Anglong and another from Panjabari area Guwahati in 2001 and were kept in the Assam State Zoo cum Botanical garden in Guwahati as they are being shifted to Nameri wild life sanctuary for departmental works from the State Zoo in Guwahati on Friday, 02 April 2010.

One female elephant was killed and the other pregnant elephant was seriously injured in this tragic incident. The pregnant elephant is later given birth a baby elephant in the incident site. All together 10 Elephants died and 9 others are injured from the year 2006 when this division of NF Railway’s track started.
