The plane HPT-32 was trainer aircraft and had two IAF pilots Ritin Jain and Chaturvedi on board, who were the training instructors at the Air Force Academy killed on the spot.

Cheetal is the first batch of re-engined version of ‘Cheetah’ helicopters. IAF had placed an order for 10 Cheetals, of which the first batch of four has been delivered; the remaining six are expected to be handed over by September. The Cheetal helicopters are robust with enhanced fuel-efficient engine, which boost its endurance and payload.
